TRANSCRIBER / GOOD TO KNOW
What happens to your recording and transcript
Your recording is needed only for processing. Keep your own copy of the result: Transcriber.su has no recording history.
Recordings and results
Your browser uploads the recording into private temporary storage. The worker can access only its assigned recording. After processing, its working files and the source recording in storage are deleted.
The completed transcript temporarily waits for delivery. Your browser downloads and validates the entire result, then acknowledges receipt. The server deletes the text; a deletion message appears only after deletion is confirmed. Failed cleanup is retried.
Edits, speaker names, and exports stay in tab memory. After delivery, refreshing or closing the tab loses the text. Download it first.
Interrupted jobs
Unfinished uploads expire after one hour, unclaimed results after one hour, and queued jobs after 24 hours. Processing is limited to six hours. Cancellation starts cleanup immediately; a storage outage delays deletion until cleanup can succeed.
If you close the tab before receiving the transcript, you can return to an active job after signing in while its temporary files still exist. Once delivery is acknowledged, the server cannot restore the text.
Accounts and allowance
Sign-in uses an email address and a one-time code. We store accounts, sessions, monthly usage, and technical job state. File names, recordings, and transcript content are not written to the database, analytics, or backups.
Each account has ten hours per calendar month in UTC. Duration is reserved before recognition and charged once when the result is ready. Infrastructure failures and retries do not charge the allowance twice.
Upload recordings you have permission to process. For confidential material, remember that a temporary copy is transferred to the server for recognition.
